Today we travelled to the Montmorency Falls. These falls are higher than Niagara Falls! We managed to book a tour bus to take us out to the falls and back, and whilst there booked the cable car to take us to the top.
At the top of the falls, there is a bridge that crosses just as the falls begin to drop, so you can get up close. You can also take photos from behind and in front of the falls.
There is also a walkway to get up to the falls, or down if you took the cable car up. We weren’t too keen to climb the four hundred and something stairs going up, but did take them back down.
Though these falls were higher than Niagara, we felt they weren’t as impressive (much less volume of water), and the splashback from hitting the bottom when sideways instead of up. Still, it was a neat thing to see, and with the sunny weather it was a good morning out exploring.
On our return to the city, we split up again, Chris off to relax at the spa and Danielle off to the local mall for some shopping.
Chris (Str0m Spa)
So the Str0m / Strom Spa was pretty epic. Again this was a digital detox. While not as strict as the last spa some guests had phones in their robe pockets, phones were banned in all pools. After my last experience I left my phone in the locker and just enjoyed the experience! (Such personal growth I tell you).
The spa is FLASH like really very fancy. I absolutely loved it and would be back here in winter if I could. While a great place it did seam to be more off the tourist track as there was very little english being whispered. It was all french. The staff all spoke excellent english but the greeting / original assumption was french. This made the experience even more enjoyable.
These photos are not mine, but I have included them for some context. The infinity pool was out of this world. I could only imagine what it would be like when the river is full of ice.
Evening
On returning to the hotel late in the afternoon we decided to try a Canadian delicacy and ordered Beavers Tails to be delivered to the hotel. Its not as strange as it sounds, and really delicious. Though, one was enough!
Finally (after a very late afternoon nap!) we enjoyed a very late dinner in the restaurant. Such amazing food to finish off our last full day here.
Tomorrow, we head back to Toronto and begin our road trip.
Until then,
Chris & Dan
