Day 2 – AKL to Port Augusta

Day 2 was a 20 hour day. We woke at 4:30 NZ time met up with the Mills clan.

After saying goodbye to Ashley (see you in a week!) we made our way through Customs and into the lounge.  Dan, Cynthia and Whitney went duty free shopping while the boys relaxed and and took advantage of free food and drinks

Minor issues getting going once we reached Adelaide. Broken vodka, nail in the tire, no Telstra shops open but we finally hit the road and made it up to Port Augusta 🙂

The roads around Adelaide are really rough, there was a lot of bouncing around in the back of the camper.  However, once out of the main city we started to see some interesting scenery, including pink water…see below.

around 6pm local time we reached Port Augusta and made camp.  It was a rough night though as strong winds and rain lashed the town.  Very glad we were in a camper and not in a tent!!

after breakfast we are heading 600km up the road to Coober Pedy.

Until tomorrow

Chris and Dan
