Day 9 – Hilton Toronto

After a good sleep for both of us we enjoyed the hotel breakfast and finished packing. Today the focus is on logistics, we need to move into Hilton in town and return the rental car to the airport.

The drive into town was intense. Fortunately Apple Maps works great with very specific lane guidance. Without this we would have been very stuck. It’s the kind of stuff that Danielle’s mum’s nightmares are made of… LOTS of lane changes across 10 lane freeways. It feels a bit like LA where you can’t hesitate you just need confidence.

We dropped the bags at the hotel and headed for the airport. We filled up the rental car, 3/4 of a tank cost about $45 NZD! Oh how the other side of the world lives.

Simple process to return the rental car then we sought out the UP train.

There are dividers between the seats (thanks covid)

After arriving back in town on the UP we then explored the CBD for a bit on foot. The rain started for a bit so we took the opportunity to get a late lunch indoors.

After lunch we headed to the hotel for the 4pm check-in.

A quick swim in the pool before drinks and sunset in the executive lounge.

The sunset here was quite different a LOT more red in the sky. Less orange.
