Ok so the day started with a pretty jarring alarm. While it was set for a respectable 8.00am local time that was still 1am? For my body clock. Today is all about getting to DC from Houston.

Day 0 – Part 2 – Chris
I am currently enroute from Houston to Baltimore enjoying the inflight wifi. A short recap of the rest of Day 0 the longest day.
AKL – LA onboard ZN4. I was was fortunate to be in BP with a bed as this was an overnight flight leaving around 11pm local time arriving into LA around 4pm local time.

So today was a bit of rough one for me. Not only is it the start of a trip and all the planning and stress that goes with it, today also marks the 1 year anniversary of my Mums death.
I started the day off with a walk to Mums favorite spot to lay some flowers and mark the time of her death. 07:52.

We are back in NZ and happy to be heading home on our last flight shortly.
Day 18 – Part 2
We made it to Houston without too much drama (after the ticket and bag issues had been sorted in Toronto). Flying from Canada to US is such a breeze, no different than flying around the country. And we didn’t even have to go through customs again when we reached the US. BONUS!

Hi all,
We are back in NZ safe and sound. We are pretty shattered after 27 hours of nonstop travel. We are off to sleep for a few hours. Airport Novotel let us check-in before 6am and gave us their suite. Night night.

As we will be spending most of today traveling, I thought we might get a jump on the blog for tomorrow. This morning we woke with the sun in Niagara falls and were treated to a magnificent sunrise (see pic).

Morning all
Yesterday was a bit of a relaxing day for us (“finally” Chris says) as we had nothing specific planned. And so, we decided to go exploring the eastern side of the Island.
