Day 20 – Soo Locks (ship elevator) and an unplanned review of the US Health system
Today we opened our eyes to find that Sault Ste Marie had disappeared! The fog was some of the thickest we have ever seen.

This morning we woke to the sun coming up over the island. The resort we were staying at was on the sunrise side, so we knew we would wake to the sun. Though Chris leapt out of bed to get a photo, he was about 40 seconds to late to capture the best shot.

Today was day 1 of our road trip. After breakfast in the hotel, we headed off west towards the Canada/USA border for our 6 hour journey (plus border crossing and stops).

Today we travelled to the Montmorency Falls. These falls are higher than Niagara Falls! We managed to book a tour bus to take us out to the falls and back, and whilst there booked the cable car to take us to the top.

Today we took the opportunity to explore Old Quebec. As part of the services the Hotel provides, is a walking tour of Old Quebec.
The walking tour lasted about 3 hours and covered everything you wanted to know about the city. We had wandered around the night before and so had briefly visited most places already, but we didn’t know their significance or purpose until today.
